Sunday, January 15, 6:30-9:00 pm, Predictions for 2012
We bring together outstanding Kansas City intuitives to share their information on the upcoming year. Last year we had Steve MacDonald give an amazingly accurate prediction regarding the Occupy movement. Among the predictions were references to an upcoming middle class uprising and an attendee raised the question, “When will this happen?” Steve MacDonald replied with the exact date and time! This year we expect the same amazing information.
The last several years this has been a really fun event, set up in a panel format with plenty of time for questions and feed back.
As our gift to you, your valued customer, get one punch on your appreciation card with each $10 purchase. After $100 in purchases, we will give you a gift card worth $10 for your to use on your next visit or to give as a gift. Punch card good Dec. 1, 2011 thru Dec. 31, 2011.

Sunday, December 18, 2-4 pm, Castle and Cross Celtic Holiday Concert
Each year we give a special party for all our customers, friends, and neighbors with a wonderful concert by an exceptional Celtic group from Topeka and serve tasty refreshments. Our figt to you is an afternoon of stress free pleasure and relaxation. Many feel this is an essential part of their holiday celebration. Please bring family and friends.
For those of you who did not attend the Fire Puja with the Tibetan Monks, you missed an amazing event. We brought out the fire pit and turned the parking lot into a ritual space for the monks. With over 125 people in attendance, there was standing room only and even people from the neighborhood stopped by to check out the activity. After the fire was lit and offerings of incense, bread, cakes, sugar, butter and milk were made in the flames, the monks began to chant in harmony. I closed my eyes and could feel a palpable energy radiating out into the neighborhood. Occasionally the chanting was broken by the playing of traditional drums, cymbals, pipes and 10′ ornate bronze horns to clear away any negative energy, then more offerings to the fire. After more than an hour, the monks put away their instruments and indicated that they were finished but the crowd (including a number of children) were so transfixed that nobody moved! With a collective exhale, we began to applaud and move about. The monks were very gracious and performed individual blessings for some and greeted the crowd with a great deal of warmth and huge smiles. We are so grateful that the monks were able to include us in their schedule and that they could come back on their current tour. If you get the chance to attend any of their events while they are in the area, it would be well worth your effort. For more information about their schedule while they are here go to http://www.facebook.com/DrepungGomangKc . We are again excited and fortunate to be one of the venues for KC Fringe Festival, an annual event in Midtown for theatre, dance, music, film, art, fashion, burlesque and spoken word. There is something for everyone regardless of age or interests and more events than you can attend. I have seen several so far–and more on my list to attend. There are many outstanding performances and I especially enjoyed Tardu vol by Voler: Thieves of Flight with their aerials and amazing feats of grace and balance.
In our multipurpose room we have an exceptional offering. “Never Invite Old Men to Your Wedding “ by Roger Coleman, author, community activist and pastor of Pilgrim Chapel, presents entertaining stories from his experiences in mid-town Kansas City. These performances range from heartbreaking to hilarious and I laughed and cried. Danny Cox, a talented Blues singer and musician, stands out with his heartfelt music and presentation. “ Cowtown” is a funny, energetic improv group that keeps the energy hopping with their creative interaction with the audience. Another in our venue is “White Sangria” which I’ll see tomorrow night.
Fringe Festival is hugely successful and does offer advance ticket sales. I have heard of several shows that had to turn people away (and I did not get into Rocky and Bullwinkle) so consider pre-purchasing tickets through www.kcfringe.org, at Fringe Central or at the ticket booth at Crown Center and get to the venue early so you won‘t be disappointed.
Valued Customers,
Due to the Marathon on 6/04/2011 we will be opening one hour later,11 A.M. instead of our usual 10 A.M. We are sorry if the causes any inconvience.

The Mayans actually used many calendars, each for a specific purpose– a Venus calendar, a moon calendar, a 365 day sun calendar, and many others. The 260 day calendar called the Tzolkin is the one most often used for prophecy which is based on cycles and pulses of energy.
The Maya belief is that the universe inhales and exhales. Times of inhalation are times of growth, abundance, and advancing; the times of exhalation are times for rest, rebirth and planning. Existence is in a spiral so those things what happened in the past tend to reoccur (with additional changes) when the energies reoccur. To read the prophecies, I look at many levels of cycles including days, months and years, to see where they line up and what happened when that alignment occurred before.
These times of inhalation and exhalation are divided into what is translated as days and nights, though summer and winter might be a more accurate way to think of them. Right now we are in Day 7 the time of the Lord and Lady of Duality. At the end of Day 7 we will end the childhood cycle and we will become mature adults as we move from duality to oneness.
We are also in Katun 4 Ahau. This is a time of eclectic world spirituality, a time of sacrifice and of great leaders. This is a time of remembering knowledge and writing it down, of communication and information storage. Some of our most taken-for-granted beliefs, both secular and religious, will loose credibility. The next Katun begins in 2012 and culminating in 2032 will be the time of the end of authoritative order and a time of uniting for a cause.
The Mayan years do not coincide with the Gregorian calendar so we are presently in the Mayan year 12 Manek. For the past few months and until April, this is a time of transition and merging as we stand with one foot in the past and the other in the future and have one foot in individual concerns and the other in concerns of the social world. The challenge is in cooperating and having good interaction as we search for freedom and independence. As we have seen, meetings and alliances happen but agreements are a challenge because of indecisiveness.
On April 3, 2011, we move into the Mayan year 13 Eb. I looked at this period of time in several ways: first, an overview; second, what are the compatible energies; third, what is hidden; fourth, what will be the challenges. The prophecies work on all levels from your personal influences, city and state as well as national influences.
First, the overview. This is a time when everything is interconnected, developing and expanding. This is the summit of the creative process about to become manifested. But it is also a year of conflict of freedom vs. responsibility, between the traditional and unconventional and between traditional moral and ethical considerations. See this as a time when we will look at how we are doing things and consider how to do it better.
Second, what are the compatible energies. Think of this year as the time of noon and summer fire and a time of ripening and rebirth. This is the time for uncovering, searching out, discovering the hidden and clearing up convoluted history and revealing lost spiritual truths. This could lead to reformation in traditional religions, leaks on government activities, clarifying and correcting history written by the conquerors.
Third, what is hidden. There are private entangled and intertwined relationships that may be socially maladjusted and co-dependent. These relationships may turn sour but ties and obligations hamper better choices. Watch for passive/aggressive communications and cutting and sarcastic comments. There will be control of information in order to hold power. Old ways of doing things and good-old-boy networks will be pressured to make better choices and to operate with more transparency. Expect more information released like the Wikkileaks.
Fourth, what are the challenges of this year. Some of us will want life to stay the same but change is already out of control. There is no going back. There will be a challenge to let go of old opinions that are outdated and danger of rationalizing to a point where bad judgment and poor choices are made. Leaders are independent and stubborn and operate from intellect limiting ability to see the big picture. The year will bring conflicting social needs. People in power will work to please others and then resent compromises they are expected to make. Leaders will act from power and energies of non-rational feelings and emotions. People in high public profiles will appear either emotionally complex or over-reactive. Emotions of leaders (and irrational needs to be important) create complex situations that will not be easy to resolve. This is a time for healing rifts and settling differences. Women’s issues will be prominent.
Expect bickering and pettiness among our leaders as they maneuver to protect their entrenched systems despite a current of flow of social change and social responsibility. Expect women’s issues to be in the forefront of discussions. Expect discussions on health topics–not just health insurance but quality of life. This should be a good year for business.
In addition to these influences, I found some very specific and clear revelations to share with you. The present Universal Cycle (one of the pulses I considered) will run February 11, 2011, to October 28, 2011. During this time the highest truth will be revealed. This cycle will generate unitary consciousness as we move toward Baktun 13, the time of conscious co-creation that you know as December 21, 2012.
The only Mayan inscription dealing with what people are calling the end of time is from the Mayan book of Chilam Balan. The direct quote is “Presently Baktun 13 shall come sailing, figuratively speaking, bringing the ornaments of which I have spoken, from the ancestors. Then the god will come to visit his little ones. Perhaps “After Death” will be the subject of his discourses.” Now, what does that mean? Possibly it means that god will initiate human beings into a life without death.
One most interesting date coming up is the date of the ending of this Universal Cycle. It is 13 Ahau with 13 meaning completion and Ahau means god. That date is October 28, 2011. With Mayan thinking, this would be a key date of perhaps even more importance than December 21, 2012, especially since it is also what is called a burner date. It is the date when ethics comes to completion. It is a date of fruition, balance between East and
West as well as male and female. It is the end of control of one soul of another soul, beginning of non-dual cosmic consciousness. It is the day of the Sun god Kinich Ahau, a day of public recognition and high expectations. So be aware of the importance of that date: October 28, 2011.
Now about dates called “burner dates”. There are four of them and they are of key importance which influence the three days before and three days after the specific dates. These dates are:
January 6–world events reach a crescendo. (Perhaps the opening of Congress and the noise of the Republicans.)
May 16–This is the sign of the Eagle which represents the United States and it is in the sign of air which is inspiration, messages from the ancients. It can also be sound, music, or words. I’m not sure exactly what will happen here.
July 20–Important decisions, debate, death of a leader, critical point in a war
September 23–Expansiveness, something comes to fruition or completion. Sense of abundance.
October 28–Balance between East and West, male and female. Beginning of non-dual cosmic consciousness. Growth from childhood to adult.
These are specific dates to be aware of and now here are my predictions based on the Mayan calendars:
The Fed will print a trillion dollars to throw at the money crisis. There will be more bank collapses and pressure on the Euro.
Watch the growing middle class in other countries, as we loose it in the US, as they are creating an emerging, interconnected global society. At present we are out of this loop.
This cycle is for revolution. This may well be Americans pushing against corporations. Expect a trend for buying local, green products. Recycling, thrift stores will be trendy.
On the monetary crisis, the major turn around was last November 2, 2010, and by May 1, 2011, it will be dramatic.
North Korea will try to flex its muscles and may even threaten to drop an atomic bomb but will be stopped because of hunger within their nation.
This is Year 2 of Mother Nature’s World War III. It will be the worst hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico in 5 years. There will be ocean storms and monsoons, especially in Pakistan and South Asia.
Many of you have participated in workshops and pujas by our friend Thomas Ashley-Farrand. We were saddened to hear of his death from an aggressive form of cancer. In a recent e-mail, he said he was prepared for this transition but his only regret was that he had so many plans that would not be completed. His work will be carried on by his wife.
